Soft Tissue Fillers

There are several injectable fillers available to augment tissues and fill in fine lines and wrinkles, These include collagen, hyaluronic acid, hydroxyapatite, and your own fat. Your plastic surgeon will discuss the options that best address your needs.

Anesthesia

No anesthesia is required although some surgeons may use local anesthetic to minimize the discomfort of the injection.

Before Surgery

No special care is required before injection although sunscreen is always recommended before and after treatments to minimize sun damage to skin.

Recovery

• You may experience temporary mild swelling or bruising, temporary numbness or redness.
• You may notice an "over-filled" appearance to areas that have been treated.
• Topical cool compresses or ice may alleviate some of the symptoms.
